Wildwood Montessori specialises in meeting the learning and living needs of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including gifted children and those who learn in different ways. Through our work with children of all ages, we have learned a lot about the ways in which practical, hands-on, Montessori education can make a real difference to children with a range of emotional, behavioural and specific learning difficulties and children who have difficulty with concentration, or lack motivation.
Wildwood Montessori children are taught individually, according to their unique needs. Our experiences with children with Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Autistic Spectrum disorders, Attention Deficit disorders, Critical Thinking and Speech, Language and Communication Disorders have helped us build up a strong knowledge of the needs of children with a range of learning needs.
Wendy has written many articles on Montessori for children with special educational needs. Wendy's article 'Teach Your Montessori Baby to Think' is posted on The National Literacy Trust website. The National Autistic Society have kindly uploaded Wendy's Montessori papers on autistic spectrum disorders.
